In 2019, Mercedes-Benz developed an Experimental Safety Vehicle (ESF). In a promotional film, the V4 film agency showcased ideas for safety in and around the vehicle for the age of automated driving. Filming took place in Baden-Württemberg and at a studio in Stuttgart. Some of the street scenes were shot without the vehicle. Here, live-action footage meets 3D animation. In all the shots on the country road, the car is actually driving digitally. A photorealistic visualization makes the illusion perfect.
